bottleWhat to Bring

Babies & Toddlers:

  • All food requirements including bottles fully labelled.
  • A full supply of nappies.
  • Wet wipes and nappy cream.
  • A comforter (if used).
  • Changes of clothes.
  • A current routine.

 

Children:lunchbox

  • A sheet, pillow and rug/blanket.
  • A lunch container including a nutritious morning tea, lunch, afternoon tea and drink. No lollies, chocolate chips etc!
  • A shade hat with neck protection.
  • Sunscreen is to be applied before arrival.
  • Changes of clothing and underwear.
  • Clothing is to consist of sun protective clothes (with sleeves) to enable children to climb and play unencumbered. Clothing must be able to resist paint, glue, clay and other stains. Shoes are to be non-slip jogger style.
  • Birthdays are celebrated according to family custom, usually by the sharing of a cake which parents provide, but we are happy to meet individual requests.
  • Any appropriate comfort toys may be brought to the centre, however other toys should remain at home.

 

Health

thumb_stethescopeA child suspected of a contagious illness will not be admitted to the centre. The Director will make the final decision on the admittance of a child. An exclusion chart is available on request.

All illnesses reported to the Director are logged on the centre Illness Register. This monitor is used to monitor the effectiveness of the centre's Health and Hygiene policies. Call the centre if in doubt.

The Sunshine Coast Regional Health Authority, Environmental Health Unit has recommended that all children should be immunised against Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Poliomyelitis, Diptheria, Pertussis and Tetanus in accordance with the NHMRC schedule. Non-immunised children or staff will be excluded during outbreaks of infection. A copy of current immunisation status must be supplied to the Director

Only medication prescribed by a doctor will be given to children. Medication must be current and clearly labelled. Refer to our medication policy for more details.

All centre staff posess current First-Aid and CPR certificates.
